This June, the island of Rab in Croatia became more than a summer destination. It became the perfect place for young basketball players from Iceland to improve their game. Dino Basketball Camp combined skill development, fun, and unforgettable experiences under the Adriatic sun.

The camp was led by Dino Stipcic, one of Iceland’s top players and a proud representative of Dagger Basketball Agency. It took place from June 7 to June 14, 2025, and welcomed boys and girls born between 2007 and 2012. Dino has built a strong name in youth coaching. He served as an assistant coach with Iceland’s U20 national team at EuroBasket 2023 in Heraklion and EuroBasket 2024 in Gdynia. He also recently took on the role of head coach of Iceland’s U15 national team. Before starting his coaching career in 2020, Dino enjoyed a long playing career in Croatia and Iceland with clubs such as KR, Höttur, and Álftanes. He will continue both his playing and coaching journey in the 2025/2026 season.

The camp program was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. In the mornings, players focused on individual development. They worked on ball-handling, shooting, agility, and speed. Sessions took place both indoors and in a forest outdoor park. In the afternoons, the focus shifted to team play and game situations. Campers played 2-on-2, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5, while also working on decision-making, transition play, and reading the game.

One of the highlights of the week came on Tuesday, when the group enjoyed an organized boat trip. It gave the campers a well-deserved break and added another memorable team experience, with lunch served at sea. On Friday, the camp finished with All-Star Day, where the players showed everything they had learned throughout the week.

Campers trained in a versatile gym that could be divided into three courts. They also played on outdoor courts and enjoyed access to more than 10 beaches within walking distance. That made the full experience even more special.

With high-level coaching, daily skill development, and the unique setting of island life, Dino Basketball Camp offered much more than a typical summer camp. It created a complete basketball experience for every player. The countdown to next year has already begun.

Well done, Dino!
